Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Mobility Management Suites

The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Mobility Management solutions for 2015 was just released and it’s good to see that some of our key partners are positioned as leaders and visionaries.  The mobile space has evolved quickly and enterprises are changing right along with it, trying to keep up with the latest trends and technology advancements.

After a meteoric rise of mobility over the past 10 years, many enterprises have ended up with two distinct groups that manage either mobile devices or desktops.  One of the most interesting ideas that the new Gartner quadrant points out is that mobile device management and client desktop management are now starting to converge.  The desktop group has traditionally been responsible for the bulk of enterprise applications, and with their Application Readiness processes and well established asset management, merging the mobile group makes sense from both a shared resources and better end user experience.

Gartner MQ Mobility EMMVMware: AirWatch has proven large-scale deployments across most vertical markets.

Citrix: Citrix gets high marks for user experience. WorxMail (Citrix’s secure PIM product) added a weekly calendar view, zip file support and other new features with the XenMobile 10 release.

Microsoft: Intune has unique technical capabilities to manage the Office Mobile apps on iOS and Android devices, including “conditional access,” app-level authentication and copy/paste control.

Landesk: has one of the strongest offerings for converged endpoint management, with tight integration between Landesk Management Suite and Mobility Manager.

AdminStudio Suite helps ensure that mobile apps are compatible with the devices they are deployed to and also provides mobile reputation scanning to determine what phone capabilities each apps is capable of exploiting.  Building knowledge about mobile apps and what they are capable of will help enterprises to reduce risk.  Once mobile and desktop apps are tested and approved, AdminStudio Suite will automatically transfer them to the appropriate deployment solution (both PC and Mobile) as well as publish them to the enterprise app store (App Portal). Once apps are published to the app store, they are then immediately available to end users.  When shopping the enterprise app store, end users can select from PC applications and mobile apps in the same shopping experience, App Portal will even recommend mobile versions of any PC apps you add to the shopping cart.  Converging the client desktop and mobile app management is the future and with AdminStudio, App Portal, and our partners above, you can start today.
